Pinar Yolacan describes her work as a conceptual, interdisciplinary practice through the medium of photography and sculpture. In a process that takes months or years to develop, she finds models and spends time in a particular geography and culture which in turn informs and inspires her work. Her painstakingly selection and set-up of subjects and props are an integral part of her experience, as the geography and culture informs and inspires her work.She has studied fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and Fine Art Media in Chelsea School of Art before graduating from The Cooper Union with a BFA in 2004. She has had solo shows in New York, Istanbul, Helsinki and Nigeria and is part of the permanent collection at The Getty Museum, Museum of Fine Art, Boston, The Saatchi Collection, among others. She was part of group shows such as Art Robe (Paris), The Third ICP Triennial of Photography and Video (MoMAPS1 New York) and The Armory Show.
